BACHELOR & BACHELORETTE ESCAPE

Bachelorette Trip on Costa Rica's Caribbean Side

A bachelorette trip in Costa Rica does not have to mean a crowded resort pool on the Pacific. Casa Del Soul is a private house in Cahuita, on the Caribbean side, for a group of up to seven: your own pool, an open-air yoga deck, horseback riding on the coast, snorkelling on the reef in Cahuita National Park, and Puerto Viejo's restaurants and bars about 20 minutes away when you want a night out. Bachelor and mixed groups are welcome on the same terms. The Bachelor & Bachelorette Escape starts at $7,500.

What the Bachelor & Bachelorette Escape includes

Exclusive use of the house for your dates: three bedrooms, each with a queen bed and a double bed and air conditioning, two bathrooms, a private pool, an open-air yoga deck, a full kitchen, WiFi and open-air living and dining spaces. A house manager is available for basic needs, and every guest has the use of a red light therapy mask and blanket, which after a late night tends to be the most popular item in the house.

The $7,500 starting price is preliminary and not all-inclusive. Catering, décor, photography, music, transportation, excursions, coordination, taxes and vendor services are priced separately unless your confirmed proposal includes them. Look through the gallery to see the rooms, the pool and the deck.

Who it is for, and who it is not

For the maid of honour organising a group that wants a pool to themselves, a real kitchen, one big night out and one very quiet morning after. For a groom's group that would rather surf, raft or ride ATVs than sit in a sports bar.

It is not for a dozen people. The house sleeps up to seven overnight guests and we keep it that way so the trip stays easy. Attendance beyond the overnight group, for a dinner for example, is not promised; it is confirmed only after consultation and a review of the property, and a separate refundable security deposit may be required.

How the days can run

One shape many groups like: arrive, swim and eat together on the first evening. Spend a morning on the guided hike in Cahuita National Park, then go horseback riding along the coast. Give the big night to Puerto Viejo, with a surf session or a snorkelling trip earlier in the day. Keep one slow day for massage, a chocolate tour, or nothing at all by the pool.

Each of these is an optional experience quoted in your proposal. Yoga, breathwork and sound healing can also be arranged for groups who want a calmer version of the week.

Why the Caribbean side for a bachelorette party

Because it is the part of Costa Rica that still feels like a discovery: fewer tourists than the Pacific resorts, a national park and a coral reef on Cahuita's doorstep, Afro-Caribbean food and music, and Puerto Viejo, widely known as the liveliest town on this coast, close enough for a night and far enough that it does not keep you up. The Costa Rican Tourism Board's Caribbean guide covers the region's beaches and culture.

The Caribbean coast also runs on its own weather pattern, so months that are wet elsewhere in the country are often good here.

How booking works

Choose the Bachelor & Bachelorette Escape on the celebrations page. Send your dates and guest details. Tell us which optional experiences interest you and request availability. We reply as soon as we can with a confirmed written proposal listing the house, your chosen experiences and any separately priced services. After you approve it, a 50% deposit reserves the dates.

Transportation is not included unless the proposal says so, but we can coordinate it. Most groups fly into San José and travel about 4.5 to 5 hours by road, or take a domestic flight to Limón; the getting here page explains both routes.

FAQ

Bachelor and bachelorette questions, answered

  • When is the best time to visit Costa Rica for a bachelorette party?

The Caribbean coast has its own weather pattern, different from the Pacific side, and is often at its best in months when the rest of the country is wet. Rain here tends to arrive in short, warm bursts. Holiday weeks book out early. Send us your dates and we will tell you what we typically see.

  • Where should you stay for a Costa Rica bachelorette party?

For a group of up to seven that wants privacy, a pool and both a quiet base and a lively town nearby, a private house in Cahuita works well. Cahuita is the calmer village about 20 minutes from Puerto Viejo, so you sleep somewhere quiet and go out when you choose. Large resorts suit bigger groups.

  • Can you do a wellness bachelorette here instead of a party one?

Yes, and many groups do. Swap the Puerto Viejo night for sound healing or breathwork on the deck, add morning yoga, book massage for the group and keep the days to horseback riding, the national park and the beach. Every guest already has a red light therapy mask and blanket. These sessions are quoted in your proposal.

  • What about a bachelor party on Costa Rica's Caribbean side?

Same house, same starting price of $7,500, different days: surf sessions, whitewater rafting, ATV tours, ziplining, a guided waterfall hike and a sunset boat experience are all available in the area. Mixed groups are welcome too. Tell us the kind of trip you want and we will build the proposal around it.

  • Do we need a car?

Usually not. Ground transport, airport pickup and transport for excursions can be coordinated and are confirmed in your proposal; transportation is not included unless the proposal says so. If you prefer independence, a rental car is an option. The drive from San José takes about 4.5 to 5 hours.
