CORPORATE & LEADERSHIP RETREATS

Corporate Retreat on Costa Rica's Caribbean Coast

A corporate retreat on Costa Rica's Caribbean coast for the team that actually makes the decisions: up to seven people in a private home in Cahuita, about 20 minutes from Puerto Viejo, with a dedicated workspace, WiFi, open-air living spaces for sessions, a private pool, and a national park and coral reef nearby to walk out into between meetings. Casa Del Soul hosts leadership, executive and corporate wellness groups as a property buyout, planned through a consultation rather than a booking form. No ballroom, no lanyards.

What a small team retreat at Casa Del Soul is

Exclusive use of the house: three bedrooms, each with a queen bed and a double bed and air conditioning, two bathrooms, a dedicated workspace, WiFi, a full kitchen, a private pool, an open-air yoga deck for the sessions that need air, and open-air living and dining spaces for the ones that need a table. The recommended arrangement is up to six participants plus one host or facilitator.

A house manager is available for basic needs, and every guest has the use of a red light therapy mask and blanket. Dining, ground transport, airport pickup, excursions and staffing can be coordinated and are confirmed during the consultation. Our host your retreat page explains how buyouts work.

Who it is built for: founders, leadership teams, partners

A founding team planning the next raise. A leadership team doing the annual strategy offsite away from the message threads. A partnership that needs two days to decide something hard. A remote team meeting in person for the first time. The board of a small nonprofit. A corporate wellness group that wants yoga, breathwork and time outdoors built into the agenda.

It is not for a forty-person all-hands. The house sleeps up to seven, and that is the point: this is the size of retreat that agencies rarely serve and hotels do not bother with. If your team is larger, we will say so at the consultation.

How we plan it with you

It starts with a consultation: dates, headcount, goals, workspace needs and dietary requirements. There is no booking or payment at that step. We then confirm what can be coordinated for your group, including dining, ground transport, airport pickup, excursions and staffing, and set it out in writing so you can get internal approval.

Casa Del Soul hosts team retreats as a group commitment or a full property buyout. Pricing depends on dates, length and the services you choose, so we do not publish a corporate rate; the consultation is where that number comes from. Once terms are agreed, a 50% deposit reserves the dates.

Team-building activities from the house

A guided hike and snorkelling in Cahuita National Park. A guided waterfall hike. Whitewater rafting for the team that wants a shared challenge. An ATV tour or ziplining. Horseback riding along the coast. A cacao and chocolate tour, which doubles as a cross-cultural session. A sunset boat experience for the last evening. Yoga, meditation, breathwork or sound healing on the deck to close a hard day.

Each is coordinated and priced separately during the consultation, and the experiences page shows the full list. Teams do not need a car; transport for excursions can be arranged.

Getting a team to Cahuita

Most teams fly into Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San José, which has direct flights from many U.S. and some European cities. From there, ground travel to the Puerto Viejo area takes about 4.5 to 5 hours, and a private transfer can be coordinated so the team arrives together. A domestic SANSA flight to Puerto Limón followed by ground transport is faster; leave at least three hours between the international and domestic flights.

Aim for arrivals by 11 AM so the team reaches the house before dark. Transportation is not included unless your agreement says so.

FAQ

Corporate retreat questions, answered

  • Is Costa Rica a good destination for a corporate offsite?

For small teams, yes. It is well connected to U.S. hubs, broadly English-friendly in tourist areas, and has the kind of nature that makes a retreat feel different from a meeting. The Caribbean coast adds fewer crowds and a distinct Afro-Caribbean culture, and Cahuita is the quieter end of it. Check current entry requirements for your team.

  • How long should a company retreat in Costa Rica last?

Long enough that travel does not eat the agenda. A day is spent reaching the coast from San José in each direction, so most teams plan at least four nights, which leaves two and a half working days. Our scheduled retreats run five days and four nights; hosted team retreats set their own length at the consultation.

  • What does a corporate retreat at Casa Del Soul cost?

It depends on dates, length, headcount and the services you choose, so we quote each team individually after a consultation rather than publishing a rate. Dining, ground transport, airport pickup, excursions and staffing are confirmed and priced at that stage. There is no payment at the consultation; a 50% deposit reserves dates once terms are agreed.

  • Can we bring our own facilitator or coach?

Yes. Many teams bring a facilitator, coach or yoga teacher, and the recommended arrangement is up to six participants plus one host. The house provides the workspace, WiFi, the deck and the gathering spaces. If you need additional staffing, such as a wellness practitioner, tell us at the consultation and we will confirm what can be coordinated.
